It was nerve racking excitement. Never having built a home before. But with putting in work and watching the dream come true. It was very exciting and I learned a lot. I love my home and I feel more connected as I took part in building it.

We initially identified three ICF contractors to interview and get quotes from for our large, multi-year project.  ICF Specialties was the first.  We liked their vision, vast ICF build experience, use and exploration of new technologies, flexibility to be ok with us doing some of the work and bottom line, we really liked the people.  We stopped there and chose them to be our contractor and build partner and never regretted that decision.  This is a true family-run business with members responsible for all aspects of the business. We always know that we are getting the straight, honest answer and a fair deal. They all obviously love what they do, because the bring a lot of joy and humor to the job and are fun to work with.

My husband attended workshops twice, and I attended once, which, along with our many questions on-site, helped us gain a lot of insight and experience. Ed took our initial design ideas and adapted them for an ICF build, while also offering valuable suggestions and improvements. When we faced issues with our grinder pump due to changes in county requirements, the team was incredibly responsive and worked hard to negotiate while ultimately resolving the problem. Overall, the reason I chose ICF Specialties is because I truly believe in the importance of liking, respecting, and valuing the people we work with.
